This is not a very sophisticated piece of lens with AF, IS, USM etc...For the price what we pay this is quite a descent 500mm lens. Again please do not expect this will do a magic for you as this is a lens which you need to manually focus and shoot the pic with appropriate aperture or shutter speed. If you are trying to find a lens to point and shoot then this is not a lens for you. IF you are novice and wants to pursue bird or nature photography as a hobby but you have a limited budget, then this is the right low cost choice. I am able to good pics with less or no haze or distortion in bright day light. You can find bit of haze in low light conditions or you are trying to focus a very distant object.
