Great 2X Teleconverter

If you know anything about Vivitar, they do not make junk and the stand behind their products.This is a wonderful doubler for your lens, but before you get it there are few things you need to know.I am using this with my Nikon D-3000. This doubler needs sunlight. Period! If you use it ouddoors in full sun, the autofocus works perfectly.You can turn your lens to manual to focus when it refuses to do it on it's own and it will still take great shots.Such cases for me have been... fluorescent lighting (actually any indoor lighting I have tried it on) and very cloudy days.Make sure it is on a tripod during these manual focus times, because the shutter speed is reduced and doing it hand-held (for me) caused motion blur.My main use for this is outdoor wildlife photography and it is absolutely what I needed. On a sunny day this week, I actually captured a Red Tailed Hawk glidingthrough the air about 100 meters away and you can see every detail of the bird.No complaints from me on this product.

I bought this piece with intention to increase the image captured by my digital camera directly to a D5000 NIKON NIKON E200 microscope ... Got a great solution! I am very satisfied with using the microscope and the lens (18-200mm), but this loses the ability to autofocus. The image quality is always great, especially in the light of day.

Bought this for my D3000. Total manual control needed, including focus, aperture and shutter speed. I used it on a sunny cloudless day with manual focus only, all other settings on auto. Some pictures were OK, others were overexposed, completely washed out. A steady hand or tripod is needed. Definately not for action shots.
