Can't get sharp shot

I've installed it on tripod and tried to make sharp image of something not so far, like tree flower. It comes with strong glow. Relly strong. I am not sure, if its supposed to be like that for mirror lenses or it is a refraction of some sort in my particular one, but the results are just bad. And no stabilisation, no autofocus, no light control. And no way you can use it for "sport and nature photography". So, I played a little and returned it.
